| Entry qualification | High school / secondary education (or higher) Please, keep in mind that in order to be accepted for the English Foundation course, you also need to be eligible for studies of a Bachelor’s degree afterward. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. Please, find country-specific requirements for the documents here. |

| Other requirements | The eligibility for the English Foundation program is decided based on the Bachelor’s degree choice in SMK after completing the language program. The acceptable study gap is 7 years. After submitting an application, you will be invited to a short motivational interview for us to determine your English-level skills and motivations for studies. Specific requirements for Non-EU applicants: Please, keep in mind that non-EU citizens are required to cover one full-year tuition fee before the end of the admission period. |

Overview
For students needing to advance their English language skills, SMK offers English Foundation Programme. The duration of the programme is one or, if needed, two semesters. After completing the programme you will bring your language level to the upper intermediate level which is required to study at SMK. The programme is available every semester starting Fall and Spring and is delivered full time.
Programme structure
The program consists of 12 academic hours per week plus various independent and group projects in order to help students better prepare for university studies.
Program encompasses these subjects:
- English Reading and Analysis;
- Basics of English Grammar;
- English Listening and Understanding;
- Public Speaking;
- Besides the English language, students are also able to attend various classes offered at SMK which could help to decide what to study at the university level.
SMK also organizes various cultural activities for students to know Vilnius and Lithuania better.
Career opportunities
After finishing the course, you will receive a Certificate in English Language.
With this certificate, you may proceed to apply for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme in English, depending on your education.
If you choose to continue studying at SMK and apply for one of SMK’s Professional Bachelor Study Programmes, no registration fee will be required.
